Client Success Stories

Signature Genomic Laboratories, LLC
Signature Genomic Laboratories’ (SGL) innovative cytogenetic diagnostic techniques use patented microarray analysis to deliver the fastest, most thorough, most objective chromosome investigation and interpretation available. Test results detect the smallest gains or losses of chromosomes or chromosome segments that lead to the changes in DNA that cause birth defects, behavior problems, and developmental or learning disabilities. Early detection helps practitioners, patients and parents seize the healthcare initiative for delivering treatment, setting expectations, and building a support network.

Correctly anticipating swift market acceptance accompanied by rapid growth, SGL established operations as one of the first occupants of the Sirti Technology Center in 2006. The company found the Technology Center a unique environment for their business, offering critical wetlab facilities, flexible office space, and an advanced technology infrastructure. The Sirti Technology Center was a vibrant, wellequipped business and laboratory hub at a decisive time in the company’s development. Now 57 employees-strong and posting 2007 revenues of $13.4 million, SGL is preparing to move into a custom 18,500 square foot facility in Spokane. And although Sirti will no longer host Signature Genomic Laboratories’ operations, we look forward to bringing the value of our Client Services business consulting expertise to further their success in the future.

GenPrime
GenPrime is a global leader in the development of rapid microbial detection technologies for the homeland security, healthcare and food and beverage market sectors. Since its inception, their team of scientists has invested over 50,000 hours of research, which has resulted in the development of an exceptionally reliable, proprietary technology for rapid microbe detection.

Its first product, The Easy Count™, was introduced in 2000 and has been incorporated into the production process of companies such as Miller Brewing, Coors Brewing, Molson Brewing, Lion-Nathan Brewery, Gallo Wines and Cargill to measure yeast. The Easy Count is now being deployed on a large scale for use in ethanol production.

GenPrime is on the front line of homeland security as well. Their goal is to safeguard America by offering leading edge detection products for chemical and biological threats. GenPrime’s Prime Alert® Biodetection System, a portable diagnostic device that screens for all Center for Disease Control identified bacterial agents and tests for toxins, is in demand from first responders and corporate security professionals globally. The Prime Alert Biodetection System is enabling organizations worldwide to dramatically reduce the service disruption, fear, and economic impact of bio-terrorist threats within their communities.

Pending approval by the Food and Drug Administration, GenPrime will release it newest product, BacSTAT™, to address a compelling need in the healthcare market. BacSTAT is a rapid QC test for the detection of bacterial contamination in blood platelets and can run from start to finish in approximately 20 minutes. In the United States alone, patients receive over 2 million platelet transfusions annually. While blood platelets are a critical piece of effective healthcare, bacterially ontaminated platelet units remain one of the most prevalent complications of modern transfusion medicine.
